Case Study

Blair West

Ambitious Recruitment agencies need to keep raising the bar. See how we’ve done that with Blair West’s IT.

Blair West is an ambitious and growing team of recruitment consultants, focusing on high value executive-level and private equity placements. Their ambition is evident in their corporate values – to “keep raising the bar” and “play to win”, amongst others. As IT plays a key role in enabling its consultants to live their values, it’s critical that they have the right solution in place. The nature of their placements means security also needs to be of the highest standards.

An Atlas Cloud customer since their early years, growing from their Newcastle base to national operations, Blair West initially operated an Atlas Cloud virtual desktop solution for its hybrid working consultants.

“We encourage our consultants to keep raising the bar and Atlas Cloud has done the same with our IT.

“As we continue to grow and look to further utilise our data and information we will be looking to Atlas to provide us with increasingly sophisticated, safe and efficient solutions. They’ve already discussed future improvements that will help us continue playing to win.”

After moving away from on-premise software, the need for virtual desktops diminished. Recognising this, the Atlas Cloud team proposed a new solution that better fit their organisation’s new requirements.

The new solution was to shifted Blair West’s architecture to a device-led approach, rather than virtualisation in our data centres. The Atlas Cloud team now use remote endpoint management technology to allow engineers to service machines remotely, to a level akin to being physically present on-site. Combined with sophisticated remote monitoring technology, Atlas Cloud engineers can also work proactively in the background to solve potential issues before they cause disruption.

To ensure high levels of security, multi-factor authentication is used to block unauthorised access; coupled with encryption, advanced threat protection and remote patching – on top of the security features you’d expect.

They’ve already discussed future improvements that will help us continue playing to win.

The new solution allows consultants to access work faster, offers better performance for Microsoft Teams and allows consultants to work from anywhere. Yet, it still maintains the highest of security standards and allows Atlas Cloud engineers to monitor, service and protect devices remotely and in real-time – often without consultants even knowing.
